Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday said Government Whip and Dharmapuri MLA Koppula Eshwar would be elevated as a minister soon. He was speaking after planting saplings as part of the Haritha Haaram in Dharmaram mandal headquarters on Sunday.
Apparently, Mr Rao made the statement to mollify Mr Eshwar, who is upset at being denied a ministerial berth. The MLA has not been actively participating in party activities over the past few months.
Stating that Mr Eshwar was striving to develop the constituency on many fronts, Mr Rao said the legislator deserved a minister’s post. He will be accommodated in the Cabinet shortly, announced Mr Rao, cheering up Mr Eshwar and his followers.
Mr Rao said he would take a holy dip in the Godavari near Dharmapuri town on the first day of the Pushkaralu on July 14, as he had promised during the election campaign. He said he would announce several measures for Dharmapuri Assembly constituency that day.
