Illegal realty in Yadadri faces pressure from Telangana
Hyderabad: The Telangana State government has decided to crack the whip on illegal layouts and realty ventures that have come up around Yadadri in the district of Nalgonda.
Following a survey, revenue officials found that over 3,000 acre of agricultural land in and around Yadadri has been converted into layouts without paying non-agriculture lands assessment (NALA) charges for land conversion and without seeking government approval as per the prescribed norms.
Most buyers in these layouts are from Hyderabad who had bought them as investments. The government has decided to collect Rs 8.50 crore as NALA fees and penalty from the developers for flouting norms.
Following government orders, the vigilance and enforcement department will start the process of recovering NALA fees and penalties from the developers soon.
“The illegal layouts have been identified and the process of recovering the NALA fees and penalties has been initiated. Notices are being issued to developers in Bhongir revenue division which covers Yadadri, Alair, Ramannapeta, Valigonda, Bhoodaan Pochampally and Bhongir mandals,” said P. Satyanarayana Reddy, collector in the Nalgonda district.
Notices are being sent to nearly 350 developers who have been identified so fa by the government.
Vigilance officials found that 1,495 acre in Yadadri and Alair mandals, 1,157 acre in Bhongir mandal, 218 acre in Valigonda and 35 acre in Mothkuru, which were agriculture lands, had been converted into layouts without paying NALA charges and without government approvals.
