Raipur: A tender notice issued by the 10th battalion of Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) seeking supply of essential commodities which included “housewives” has created a flutter in the police circle here.
The list of essential items figured in the tender, issued on July 4 by the CAF’s unit at Silfil in Surajpur district, included “914 number of housewives”. The last date for submitting the tender has been fixed July 13.
The authorities concerned however came out with a clarification when the twitteratti made a fun of the tender in the social networking sites likening it to the matrimonial column.
“The tender meant to order for house wife kits, which included scissors, threads, buttons and safety pins used by jawans for emergency mending of their clothes, among other essential items. But, the word ?kit? was inadvertently missed in the tender notice. It was a minor faux pas,” the clarification said.
