Hyderabad: There was a fire at a packing unit on Sunday morning at Kattedan industrial area. The mishap occurred at around 9.30 am due to a short circuit. Property worth Rs 30 lakh was burnt to ashes, however the workers escaped unhurt.
Firefighters from Moghalpura, Gowliguda and Rajendranagar doused the fire by Sunday evening. Jahnavi Packing Industries manufactures packing carton boxes for establishments across the city. Fire officer Jabbar raw material was gutted.
According to an eyewitness, a truck hit an electric pole outside the unit. The friction between the high tension wires resulted in sparks which lead to the fire.
