Chittoor: BC Samkshema Sangam activists staged a dharna in front of the One-Town police station on Sunday in Chittoor demanding stringent action against church pastor Prapulla for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl.
BCSS district general secretary P.V. Suresh said Prapulla had continued to assault her for a year. A 14-year-old girl had complained to the One Town police of Chittoor on Saturday evening alleging that she was sexually abused by the pastor for the last one year.
The girl from Penumur was studying in the Sharmon Girls High School where the accused’s wife was working as a teacher. Taking advantage of the girl visiting the teacher’s house, Prapulla allegedly sexually assaulted the girl.
The girl was shifted to a government girls’ hostel in Chittoor, but Prapulla on Friday met her and took her to his room where he again allegedly sexually assaulted her. Following this, the victim mustered courage and went to the police station and narrated her story.
The police took Prapulla into custody investigation after they registered the complaint of the victim. Local MLA Satyapraba demanded that the police take action against the guilty.
