Actress Pallavi Joshi no longer wants to be a part of FTII

She has decided to take the step owning to the negativity surrounding it

Mumbai: Actress Pallavi Joshi has reportedly written to the L&B Ministry saying she does not want to be a part of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) society. Pallavi had won the Special Jury Award at the National Film Awards in 1992.

Earlier Jahnu Barua and cinematographer Santosh Sivan also had reportedly written to the constitution asking them to not be considered as a part of the FTII society.

According to reports, Pallavi said that she doesn’t want to be part of the governing council owning to the negativity surrounding it currently. She maintained that she has no qualms with anybody being selected as the chairman but she no longer wishes to be a part of the negative environment.

Meanwhile, the FTII Students' Association reiterated that they will continue their 24-day old strike till their main demands of Chauhan's removal and reconstitution of the FTII Society are met.

Other well-known people who are a part of the FTII society are: cinematographer Shailesh Gupta, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, actress Vidya Balan, actor Rahul Solapurkar, actor Pranjal Saikia to name a few.
