KCR to visit Mothe on July 6

Mothe villagers came forward to support the cause of Telangana statehood movement
Mothe (Nizamabad): Mothe, a tiny village of 5000, in Velpur mandal of Nizamabad district, helped realise the dream of separate Telangana state and unanimouslysupported TRS after its inception in 2001, by setting aside other political parties. Mothe villagers came forward to support the cause of Telangana statehood movement, braving all odds, much before Siddipet, home town of TRS founder president K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Through its resolve to support the TRS, the hamlet holds a special place in Mr Rao’s heart. Interestingly, he took a fistful of soil from Mothe pedda cheruvu (water tank) as ‘omudupu’ (holy custom).
During the statehood struggle, he called upon the people to draw inspiration from Mothe village and said the village’s soil should be sprinkled across the region. Speaking to this newspaper, a-70-year-old farmer Singidi Gangaram said that the villagers were eager to welcome the CM. “We just want the Pedda cheruvu, to be revived at the earliest.”
