Governor intervened in BR Ambedkar Open University matter on AP’s request
The move could ruffle a few feathers in the TS government considering the tussle over 10th Schedule institutions
Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government requested the Governor to intervene and maintain status quo on BR Ambedkar Open University and Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University.
Interestingly, Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan asked both the varsities to maintain status quo for now and continue offering services to AP as has been done till now. Principal secretary to the Governor N. Ramesh sent the letter to both the varsities.
The move could ruffle a few feathers in the TS government considering the tussle over 10th Schedule institutions. Citing the recent High Court order, the Telangana state government claims complete control over all 10th Schedule institutions in TS while AP contends that assets must be divided on the population ratio.
