Coimbatore: Government bus rams into electricity board office compound

Coimbatore: A government bus that lost control on Avinashi Road near Nava India rammed into the compound wall of the electricity board office on Friday. As there were very few passengers in the bus no one was hurt.

A government bus (114) from Ondipudur bound to Keeranatham was travelling along Avinashi Road and when the bus was close to Nava India, a car came too close to the bus and brushed it along the side, the bus driver wanting to avoid collision, steered to the left but lost control.

Even as he attempted to bring the vehicle under control, the bus plunged into the compound wall of the electricity board office and a portion of the compound wall came crashing down.

As there were very few passengers on the bus no one was hurt. Peelamedu police rushed to the spot, engaged a crane and pulled the bus out of the EB office campus. A case has been registered.
