Bengaluru: Apartment owners seek end to civic woes
Bengaluru: After suffering from innumerable civic woes for a long time, those residing in apartments located near Shirdi Sai Nagar Main Road in Kundalahalli have come up with an action plan, for better roads and proper garbage management, and decided put pressure on local authorities to take action.
The residents of over 22 apartments had a meeting at Vasvani Tranquil in this regard and they also decided to intensify the Varthur Vibgyor Road Movement. They spoke about the need to develop inner roads and an action plan to improve the Vibgyor school road.
Chandra Shekar, a local resident said, “The road has been in pathetic condition for ages now and we need to understand that we have lot of schoolchildren walking through this road. The authorities should wake up and rectify it. Voting is the only instrument that we have in our hand and we will use it.”
Voicing a similar opinion Radhika P, another resident said, “There are no proper street lights in this locality. Considering the rise in crimes against women, the local authority should have taken up at least this work on war footing. There are a lot working women here. But again we are stuck between the blame game of BBMP and Bescom.”
Aravind Rajkumar, a visitor to the locality, said, “It looks like an area forsaken by civic authorities. From Shriram Complex towards Vibgor and around Kundanahalli Gate, it is chaos. There are some plots that have become dumping yards and I could see waste matter thrown almost in every open area. It is highly dangerous during monsoon, especially with numerous cases of dengue and other viral infections getting reported.”
In the meeting, focus was on getting everyone registered for voter ID cards.
