Air hostess accuses pilot of insulting her
Kochi: An air hostess of low-cost airline Air India Express has filed a complaint against a senior pilot, accusing him of insulting her at the work place.
Police at Nedumbassery acknowledged that she had filed the complaint against a senior pilot a month ago. They, however, refused to give details about the nature of the complaint, saying they cannot comment on a case, which is being probed.
Airline sources said nothing amounting to outraging the woman's modesty had occurred on the pilot's part during a briefing session in which some of her colleagues were also present. Moreover, she had not registered any complaint with the airline or sought a department-level inquiry into any sort of harassment or insult, they claimed.
The air hostess, who hails from Mumbai, is on leave and has not returned to work so far.
Air India Express officials said she was granted a few days leave, but she has not informed them the reasons for extending it.
Such actions are against HR policy of the company and she may face department-level action for her "unauthorised absence", they said.
