3-MW solar power feasible: ANERT

ANERT has already sanctioned setting up 10 projects across the state

Kochi: Solar Connect, the grid-connected solar power project of ANERT is making steady progress with the Kerala State Electricity Board Ltd (KSEBL) issuing feasibility certificates for projects which add up to 3 MW.

“We have received feasibility reports of about 70 roof-top solar projects which add up to 3 MW,” ANRERT sources said. “The inspection by officials of KSEBL is still going on.” ANERT has already sanctioned setting up 10 projects across the state.

ANERT has planned to set up power projects with capacities varying from 2 KW to 50 KW to produce 12 MW power by setting up roof-top solar power projects in the state this year.

The total installed capacity of a single project is limited to 50kW.
ANERT launched the scheme after winding up the off-grid solar power projects. It received applications from both domestic and industrial consumers which add up to generating 9 MW power.

It is envisaged that each plant of 2kW shall produce up to 6 units of power during the day and will be fed into the KSEBL grid and draw it from the grid in the night.

The flow will be regulated by a net meter. A 2 kW plant is eligible for a subsidy of Rs 63,000, given by the Central and State governments.
