Light to Moderate rain or thundershowers would occur at isolated places over Telangana
Hyderabad: The South West Monsoon has brought some rains in the last 24 hours to both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Light to moderate showers were recorded in some places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and at isolated places in Rayalaseema in the last 24 hours. Light to Moderate rain or thundershowers would occur at isolated places over Telangana.
In Coastal AP, the maximum rain of 8 cm was recorded at Palasa in Srikakulam district followed by Pathapatnam which recorded 7 cm and Pusapatirega recorded 5 cm. In Telangana, Madhira of Khammam district recorded the maximum rainfall of 7 cm in the same period. In Rayalaseema, Koilkuntla of Kurnool district recorded 1 cm rain. However, the chances of the southwest monsoon becoming active in the two states in the next few days are less, said IMD officials. Temperatures have been slowly increasing in both the states due to the below normal rainfall since a week. On Friday, Bapatla recorded 37.9 degree celsius and Kakinada 36.2 degree celsius. In Telangana, Hanmakonda recorded 36.5 degree celsius and Khammam recorded 35.2 degree celsius.
