It’s play time for Sreelakshmi

Sreelakshmi is also a part of the long running musical ballet Karuna directed by Lenin Rajendran

Sreelakshmi Sreekumar has been in the news for meeting her father Jagathy in an unplanned and abrupt manner at a function creating chaos for some time when she walked to the stage from the audience and hugged him.

But there is more to her than being her father’s daughter as she is an artiste in her own right. Though her films have not created ripples at the box office, she has shown no nervousness of a newcomer and has hosted shows and events with absolute confidence.

Sreelakshmi is also a part of the long running musical ballet Karuna directed by Lenin Rajendran, which has been staged at more than 17 venues across India. Talking more about that, Sreelakshmi says, “I play the role of Vasavadatha. Acting on stage has been a very fulfilling experience.” It was an offer out of the blue as far as Sreelakshmi was concerned and she adds, “A year back, I got a call from Lenin uncle explaining the project and he also sent me a CD to get a better understanding of the play. I immediately liked the play and decided to do it. I got just a day to rehearse. The play was staged the very next day which was Onam. I got a lot of appreciation for my role and I was retained to play Vasavadatha for the remainder of the shows.” She also mentions that the play is still an ongoing one.
