Hyderabad police told to obey traffic rules

The police should set an example by following traffic rules
Hyderabad: “Law enforcement agencies like the police should set an example by following traffic rules,” Hyderabad police commissioner Mahender Reddy said. He was speaking at the Traffic Awareness Programme for school managements, parents and students organised by the Hyderabad traffic police at the Ravindra Bharathi on Thursday.
The Traffic Awareness Programme was organised by the Hyderabad traffic police to ensure the safety of citizens on city roads, especially schoolchildren. The programme was meant to educate school managements, parents and students about traffic safety precautions that has to be taken by them.
Since, students are more vulnerable to accidents, the school managements should be careful about their safety on roads, the police commissioner said. Schools should inculcate values and ethics in students apart from the academic knowledge, he added.
Addressing the gathering, the commissioner said, “To make Hyderabad a world class city we should first make it clean and develop traffic sense. This should start from schools.” TS Transport commissioner Sandeep Sultania, deputy commissioner Ranganatha and other senior officials from the Hyderabad police, school managements and students participated in the event.
