Veteran actor Sathyaraj is in demand these days, be it in Tamil or Telugu. In fact, after the Bollywood movie Chennai Express his stock have gone up even further. The actor, who started his career as a baddie, changed tracks after Bharathiraja cast him as the hero in Kadalora Kavidhaigal. From then, he has been proving his versatility playing a variety of characters.
We hear the actor has been approached to play a powerful antagonist in the newly launched Vijay movie which is directed by Atlee. Sources say that Vijay will don khaki once again in this untitled movie which has Amy Jackson and Samantha sharing the screen with him in the present, and the flashback portions of the story, respectively.
Though Sathyaraj has not yet given his nod, Atlee seems confident that he sign up the actor. After all, Atlee gave Sathyaraj a new dimension in his debut flick Raja Rani where the latter played Nayanthara’s dad in which he received critical praise and bagged a few awards for his acting.
Sathyaraj has earlierteamed up with Vijay in movies like Nanban where he essayed an arrogant professor and later in Thalaivaa as Ilayathalapathy’s dad. Even in the recently released Isai, Sathyaraj was seen as a highly egocentric musician.
