The trend is that of pretty actresses opting to look revolting in horror films, and Charmme is no different. She will be seen playing a possessed woman in Mantra 2, a bilingual horror thriller. Directed by Satish, the movie has actor Srinivas playing the male lead.
Charmme’s earlier flick Mantra was a thriller in which the bubbly actress received the prestigious Nandhi Award. In Mantra 2 , the Punjabi actress will portray a possessed woman who goes on a revenge spree to kill her detractors. Charmme hopes that Mantra 2, would help regain her lost ground in T’town.
“Mantra 2 has a different story. Initially I was apprehensive of accepting the film since Mantra has been my best film so far. It also got me my first award. But when Satish narrated the script I was excited and convinced that it had all the potential to become a blockbuster.” Insiders say that she may even get the coveted award for the third time.
Though the makers primarily planned the release of the film only in Telugu, they now say that they are producing it in Tamil as well, realising that the horror genre has become popular in Kollywood.
