Xiaomi Mi 5 ready for November launch, specs leaked
Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has been creating ripples in the handset industry with low-cost premium handsets. Their recent launch was the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro, which is build with powerful high-end hardware on a lower cost, enough to send the rivals back to the drawing board. At present, most high-end smartphone manufacturers are relying on their handsets with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset and Xiaomi has already marked the road with a beast in store.
Reports state that Xiaomi will launch their next flagship, the Mi 5, in November this year and the handset will sport the most powerful smartphone SoC till date. The Mi 5 is expected to be built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, featuring a 5.3-inch QWHD display and 4GB of RAM. Other specifications being rumored about the Xiaomi Mi 5, codenamed Libra are fingerprint biometrics, a 16MP rear camera, 6MP on the front and a 3030 mAh battery. Along with the 32GB and 64GB variants, the handset is also said to sport the latest Android M 5.1.1 operating system built on the aftermarket MIUI operating system.
The specifications were tipped by a source to Mobipicker, who stated that the information was revealed from the company’s roadmap. At present, there is no information about when the launch date has been fixed, when it will be available and how much will the handset cost. However, we are sure that the Chinese tech giant will manage to keep the prices within an reasonable and affordable range, although it won’t be as expensive, as expected from top smartphone brands, when they launch an 820-based SoC handset.
