Campaign ends for MLC polls in Prakasam
The YSRC leaders boycotted the MLC election to protest against the attitude of TD leaders
Ongole: The campaign for MLC election for local bodies' constituency in Prakasam district, slated to be held on July 3, came to end on Wednesday. The TD has comfortable majority to win the election. Out of 992 votes, the TD is enjoying support of majority voters. The YSRC leaders boycotted the MLC election to protest against the attitude of TD leaders, who lured 35 MPT-CS of YSRC and shifted them to their camp to win in the election.
The YSRC leaders complained to Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal and MLC election returning officer Dr.M. Hari Jawaharlal in Ongole.
They lodged a police complaint also Zilla Parishad chairman and YSRC leader Nukasani Balaji and Independent MLA Amanchi Krishna Mohan shifted their loyalties to the TD before the MLC polls. Meanwhile, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu entrusted the responsibility of winning Prakasam district MLC election to the district in-charge minister Ravela Kishore Babu, minister for agriculture Prattipati Pulla Rao, minister for transport Sidda Raghava Rao and minister for information and IT Palle Raghunath Reddy.
They came to Ongole and held a meeting with MPTCs and ZPTCs. The four ministers are regularly briefing CM about developments in the district and taking his suggestions to win election.
