1.5 lakh workers from Andhra Pradesh will be skilled
Union government has identified 57 modules to provide training to the eligible workers
Hyderabad: About 1.5 lakh workers from Andhra Pradesh, who have completed more than 100 days of work in the Central government’s Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme, will be trained for skills under the new Livelihood of Full Employment project. The workers will be trained in the areas of business and commerce, construction, electrical and electronics, fashion design and fast moving consumer goods (FMCG).
The Union government has identified 57 modules to provide training to the eligible workers. The workers will be trained based on their present skills, educational qualifications, interest in the profession and viability of work in their locality.
Commissioner for rural development and panchayat raj B. Ramanjaneyulu said that on the basis of the last year’s records, about 1,50,000 workers are eligible to get the training.
The Andhra Pradesh government is also expecting that those who improve skills through this project could be used in the construction works related to Capital Region Development Authority.
