Fake notes racket busted, 9 held in Anantapur
They seized Rs 45,000 currency, Rs 5 lakh worth of fake currency notes along with a laptop
Anantapur: Three town police busted a nine-member gang involved in printing and circulation of fake currency notes here on Wednesday and seized Rs 45,000 currency, Rs 5 lakh worth of fake currency notes along with a laptop, scanner, lamination machine, xerox mach-ine and other materials from a house under the Three town police station limits in Anantapur.
Anantapur Deputy Superintendent of Police Mallikarjuna Varma said that K. Raghvendra of Kesapalli in Narpala, V. Mallikarjuna of Jonnalakothapalli in Mudigubba mandal, Sheik Mulla Makbool of Anantapur, M. Sreenivasulu, K. Nagendra Kumar, P. Sreenivasulu, G. Ramudu, S.Vijayakumar of Tadipatri and K. Gopal of Bathalapalli in the district formed as gang after they incurred heavy losses in their business.
They started printing of fake currency at a rented house in Anantapur and circulating them by mixing into original notes. They were arrested and sent to remand, the Anantapur DSP said.
