Mumbai: Early Thursday morning, the Internet witnessed Coldplay fans in India having a meltdown after news of the secret impromptu gig broke. The multi-Grammy award wining band’s lead singer Chris Martin was in Delhi last evening, enjoying dinner with Freida Pinto, folk-rock musicians Raghu Dixit, VishalDadlani and the crew from All India Bakchod before they decided to go to a local pub and perform live.
The singer and Freida Pinto are travelling in India with The Global Poverty Project, a nonprofit organization that is working to end 'extreme poverty' by 2030. Martin and Pinto visited slum areas in Delhi, and according to reports also met politicians and other NGOs associated with water, sanitation and hygiene.
According to a report on Huffington Post, the singer also met up with Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and had a brief discussion on sanitation projects in the country.
Chris was recently in the news when Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were seen entering a recording studio in London on Saturday, presumably to record tracks for an upcoming movie. Martin previously had helmed the song "Miracles" for Jolie's "Unbroken."
