Delhi Dynamos retain Gustavo dos Santos Marmentini

The 21-year-old is at the dawn of his football career and will have plenty to offer to the team

New Delhi: Delhi Dynamos FC have retained Brazilian youngster Gustavo dos Santos Marmentini for the second season of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) football.

The fleet-footed star is back to the capital after gaining valuable first team experience with Brazilian powerhouse Atletico Paranaense.

In Gustavo, the club has made a fine addition to its arsenal. The flamboyant winger is no stranger to the league having experienced a very impressive first season with the club. The 21-year-old is at the dawn of his football career and will have plenty to offer to the team.

The Brazilian starlet led the charts for Delhi Dynamos scoring almost one-third of the club's goals in the inaugural season of the ISL. His flair, penchant for nutmegs and courage to take on any opponent made him an instant crowd favourite with the fans comparing him to the likes of compatriot Neymar.

Having come heartbreakingly close to propelling Delhi into the semifinals with his shot hitting the post in the dying minutes of the final game last season, Dos Santos will be gunning for both team and individual honours this season.

Commenting on his second stint with the Dynamos, Gustavo said, "I am excited to be a part of Delhi Dynamos again. I had some very fond memories last season. The fans are really special to me and I look forward to entertaining them."

On Gustavo joining the team, Delhi Dynamos FC president Prashant Agarwal said, "Gustavo is a fantastic young player with great energy and determination. We believe he is one of the best prospects in the league and is a valuable addition to the team."

Gustavo will join other Indian players Shylo Malsawmtluanga, Francis Fernandes and Seminlen Doungel in the upcoming season.
