‘Criminal nexus’ links Lalit Modi with Raje family: Congress
New Delhi: Two BJP Chief Ministers — Vasundhara Raje and Shivraj Singh Chouhan — are in trouble over the Lalit Modi issue and the Vyapam scam respectively.
While the Congress on Tuesday came out with fresh documents accusing Ms Raje of “forcible, illegal occupation” of Dholpur Palace along with Lalit Modi through a private company, AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh approached the Supreme Court seeking a court-monitored CBI investigation into the Vyapam scam.

Former Union minister and senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh dismissed the BJP’s denials on the ownership of Dholpur Palace and demanded the immediate sacking of Ms Raje, saying there was a “criminal nexus” between her family and former IPL boss Lalit Modi. “There has been a criminal nexus between Lalit Modi and the Vasundhara Raje family,” Mr Ramesh told reporters here.

Saying that the Congress will not stop disclosures over the issue till “closure” is done by the BJP removing Ms Raje, Mr Ramesh released some fresh documents, including one dating back to 1949 which showed that Dholpur Palace was owned by the Rajasthan government. For the second consecutive day, Mr Ramesh accused her of “forcible, illegal occupation” of Dholpur Palace along with Lalit Modi.
