Hyderabad: First phase of Web counselling for the Telangana Eamcet is likely to begin from July 6 and end on July 13.
Entry of options online would be allowed from July 6 till July 9 and July 10 would be provided for change of options.
The final allotments would be announced on July 13. However, the official schedule is to be released by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) in a day or two.
The Hyderabad High Court had earlier directed authorities to hold counselling from July 6 and begin academic sessions from August 1, as per the Supreme Court’s guidelines.
Though counselling was to begin much earlier, it was delayed as engineering colleges approached the High Court against the JNTU-Hyderabad giving them just one day to rectify deficiencies pointed out by the varsity.
But with private engineering colleges planning to approach the High Court again, it remains to be seen if the planned counselling schedule will still stand.
“As the High Court had earlier directed, we are planning to begin first phase counselling on July 6 and announce allotments on July 13,” a senior Telangana State Council of Higher Education said.
“We will hold a meeting on this n Wednesday or Thursday and then released the schedule officially. But colleges are planning to go to court so we have to see what happens,” the official added.
