Plastic Aadhaar cards given to 348 people in e-centres

Coimbatore: As many 348 Aadhaar cards in plastic format were issued to public since 11 June at the common e-service centres run by the Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation.
District collector Archana Patnaik on Tuesday examined the functioning of common e-service centre at North Taluk office and also issued 20 plastic Aadhaar cards to applicants. In a release, the collector said that those who are eligible can give their 14 digit registration number given to them at the time of providing the biometric details and avail plastic Aadhaar card by paying Rs 40.

Those who had already obtained the card in paper format could get the plastic cards by submitting their Aadhaar number along with Rs 30 as processing fee. People may visit the centres between 9.45 am and 5.45 pm on all working days except on Sundays and on government holidays.
Public can also avail certificates for income, community, residential, first generation graduates, marriage assistance scheme and others. Arrangements have been done for public to apply for PAN Card, passport, do corrections in voters ID and make payments for insurance schemes in LIC. Since 24 February, the common e-service centres had issued 25102 certificates to public in eleven different categories, said the release.
