Naga sadhus big draw during Godavari Pushkaralu in Telangana

The sadhus will stay for 15 days at Bhadrachalam
Adilabad: Naga sadhus from Himalayas will be a big draw during the Godavari Pushkaralu in Telangana. It is said that with the participation of Naga sandhus in the religious event, the state government’s aspiration to organise the event on the lines of Kumbh Mela will be fulfilled to some extent. A large number of Naga sadhus, will take a holy dip at Bhadra-chalam during the Pushkaralu.
Minister for endowments Allola Indrakaran Reddy told this newspaper that they were making special arrangements on the outskirts of Bhadrachalam for the stay of 500 Naga sadhus and other sadhus.
He informed that representatives of Naga sadhus have already met him as well as the adviser to state government Ramanachari and minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao and discussed their participation in Godavari Pushkaralu and stay. The Naga sadhus will stay for 15 days at Bhadrachalam to take part in the Pushkaralu and perform special pujas on the occasion.
Mr Indrakaran Reddy said Naga sadhus generally attend Kumbh Mela and this would be their first visit to Godavari Pushkaralu in Telangana state. They will stay as guests for the event.
But the Naga sadhus said they would stay in a forest area 5 km from Bhadrachalam city and come to pushkar ghats and take part in the Pushkaralu. State government will provide them water and other basic amenities and lights and tents will be erected for their stay.
The devotees attending the Pushkaralu at Badrachalam will get to see Naga sadhus, who reportedly stay in caves in the Himalayan mountains and hardly interact with the common people. Naga sadhus have selected Bhadrachalam to take holy dip in the river waters during Goda-vari Pushkaralu as Bhadrachalam has more religious sanctity and importance in the mythological history of the country.
