Katasani Rambhoopal Reddy announced support of 12 party MPTC members to Chakrapani Reddy

Anantapur: Interesting twists are being witnessed in Kurnool politics during the election for the MLC seat. While the YSRC boycotted the elections in Prakasam district, the situation appears hot in Kurnool district.
The Congress had extended support to YSRC candidate B. Venkateswar Reddy and the BJP announced support to its ally, Telugu Desam candidate Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy.
Former Union minister Kotla Jaya Suryaprakash Reddy said about 40 voters - MPTCs and others - of the Congress would support YSRC candidate. MIM municipal councillors will also support the YSRC candidate. As the Congress had a few voters, the party had not shown interest in fielding a candidate and finally extended support to the YSRC candidate.
BJP leader Katasani Rambhoopal Reddy announced support of 12 party MPTC members to Chakrapani Reddy. Meanwhile, TD leader S. Chandramohan Reddy sought support of RPS founder Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy, who has a few MPTCs in his fief.
As already several MPTCs of YSRC have shifted loyalties to the TD, and confusion prevails in both parties. Kurnool MLA S.V. Mohan Reddy alleged that the TD was resorting to malpractices to win the MLC elections and splurging money for horse trading.
"But, our candidate is going to win with absolute majority with difference of about 100 votes," he confidently said.
