Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president V. Muraleedharan claimed that the BJP has become the single largest party to win the maximum votes from Aruvikkara.
Senior BJP leader O. Rajagopal who came third in the Aruvikkara byelection had polled 34,145 votes.
Muraleedharan told reporters here that UDF candidate K. S. Sabarinasdhan’s victory cannot be considered the victory of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
“Instead, it is definitely a victory for former Speaker G. Karthikeyan to whom the people of Aruvikkara gave a fitting tribute,” said the BJP state president.
