Visakhapatnam: A day after five people of a family died of electrocution in Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, another five school children were injured after coming in contact with a high-tension live wire.
The children were electrocuted in Makavarapalem in Vizag district, on Wednesday morning.
The children were clearing a blocked drain on their terrace using an iron rod, which accidentally came in contact with an electric wire.
The kids, T Ramya Sri, 12, T Harsha Vardhan, 13, T Ganesh, 13, T Vishnu Vardhan, 13, G Lokesh, 9, were immediately shifted to Narsipatnam hospital for treatment.
Their condition is now stable.
“The children have received some minor injuries due to electrocution. There is no need to panic, they are out of danger,” said Dr Shanthi of Narsipatnam hospital.
