Telangana employees unite against Section 8

Leaders see conspiracy by AP CM to make Hyderabad Union Territory through Act
Hyderabad : Various Telangana employees’ associations came together to fight against the imposition of Section 8 in Hyderabad during a round table conference at TGOs Bhavan on Sunday. They made it clear that there was no question of accepting Section 8 in Hyderabad and vowed to intensify agitation programmes against Section 8 till the Centre withdrew the proposal.
TJAC chairman Prof. Kodandaram, TS press academy chairman Allam Narayana, TS employees’ leader and TRS MLA V. Srinivas Goud, TNGOs leader G. Deviprasad and others participated in the meeting.
Prof Kodandaram alleged that AP CM Chandrababu Naidu had hatched a conspiracy to make Hyderabad a Union Territory later and was trying to use Section 8 as a weapon to achieve this goal.
He said that the entire Telangana would stand united and fight against any move to separate Hyderabad from the rest of the state like they did during the T-movement.
Mr Srinivas Goud said Mr Naidu had raked up the Section 8 issue to obstruct the development of Telangana.
“Telangana has made rapid strides in all sectors during the last one year while AP is lagging behind on all fronts. With a malicious intention of obstructing the development of Telangana, AP CM Naidu and other Seemandhra leaders have hatched a conspiracy and are using Section 8 as a tool for the purpose. But they should realise that Telangana and its people have the strength to counter any such ill motives,” Mr Goud said.
Mr Deviprasad termed Section 8 as an attack by the AP government on the aspirations and self respect of Telangana people and government. “The time has come for all of us to be united and wage a battle against the AP government and Centre against the imposition of Section 8. Movements are not new to Telangana people. We fought relentlessly for 60 years and achieved Telangana. In the same way, we can fight against Section 8 and ensure its withdrawal,” he said.
