Andhra Pradesh Eamcet aspirants can still aspire for seats in Telangana
Hyderabad: As many 2,610 Andhra Pradesh students hoping for seats in Telangana engineering colleges will have to accept allotment orders in their state initially.
The first phase of counselling for Andhra Pradesh Eamcet has concluded, and the second phase is scheduled to begin on July 9.
However, the dates for TS Eamcet counselling are yet to be announced though it is likely to begin from July 6 as per the High Court’s suggestion.
Fortunately for students, AP Eamcet has a new rule wherein students can accept allotments, but can pay the fees only after the final phase of counselling.
Irrespective of whether they exercise options again in the second phase of counselling or not, the seat allotment in the first phase of counselling will be retained.
However, since counselling is held online, the students can participate in web counselling of Telangana Eamcet as well.
If the students choose seats in Telangana engineering colleges, the corresponding seats in AP will be left vacant, to be filled up by another round of counselling or through spot admissions.
TS Eamcet officials are still in the process of finalising seats for counselling, and the final number of seats and affiliated colleges will be announced on Monday.
