Kamalahasan and Rajinikanth urged to sort out SIAA row
Tiruchy: Popular film director and chief coordinator of the Nam Tamilar Katchi appealed to senior film actors Kamalahasan and Rajinikanth to interfere in the ongoing tussle between the two groups of Tamil film actors over the South Indian Artistes Association (SIAA) issue, and settle the same amicably.
Seeman told newsmen at Tiruchy on Saturday that SIAA is a holistic organisation founded by legends of the Tamil film world like N.S. Krishnan and M.R. Radha, and unnecessary disputes were going on at present.
Referring to the reported allegations against former Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram vis-à-vis former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi and was also involved in the 2G spectrum scandal, Seeman said it was “the duty of Chidambaram to prove himself innocent of the charges levelled against him”.
To a question, he said that the US authorities' reported remarks that the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) were still active in Sri Lanka would give a setback to the LTTE, as there already was a problem for LTTE supporters to visit foreign countries. Referring to the forthcoming elections to the Sri Lanka Parliament, Seeman pointed out that it would not help Tamils there in any way, notwithstanding whoever won.
