Hyderabad: NBA legend Michael Jordan’s mother Deloris Peoples was in the city this week, attending meetings with partners to help her work in establishing women and children’s wellness groups in East Africa.
Talking about her time in Hyderabad, Deloris said that since she was here mainly for work, she didn’t get time to sight see much.
“But I’ve enjoyed the country and the people. Also, it’s exciting to see what’s happening here in technology”
Deloris, who was at a meet by the Ficci Ladies Organisation on Friday, said that women worldwide still had choices.
“I work with women and families in the US. We have choices. Do you want to be a leader? Do you want to be empowering other women? Or would you rather be a homemaker? There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s what brings you joy.”
And about Michael? “He has twin daughters, a year-and-a-half-old. He is enjoying his family.”
