My dad was happy I did this movie: Tina Ahuja
Tina Ahuja talks about her debut film, her father’s reactions and more
Govinda’s daughter Tina Ahuja is debuting in Bollywood with Second Hand Husband opposite Gippy Garewal and Dharmendra.
Talking about not starting under a big banner, she says, “What if I had debuted under a big banner and the film would have not done well at the box office? The media would again have something to write about.”
About Govinda’s influence, she says, “My dad never likes to interfere with my work. However, he was happy when I chose this film. I would call him up every day after I finished my shoot.” She adds, “I chose the character in spite of the story being based on a male subject. But I get enough screen space as an actress. Also, the director and the story is very good.”
Continuing about Govinda, she adds, “My dad was never into depression. Yes he had gone through good and bad phases in life but he knows how to keep up a brave front. He was telling me about his films in the ’80s and ’90s being super hits and the media would write that Govinda has given a blockbuster film, but can he repeat this magic? What he meant was despite giving a good film, people like to talk about the future. Therefore we should learn to do our best in our present.”
Talking about her resemblance with Vyjayanthimala, she says, “I am really surprised when Rakesh Shreshtha told me, ‘You resemble Vyjayanthi Ji a lot. Dharmendra Ji also gave me the same compliment. Probably my high cheekbones and eyes make me resemble her.”
