Pochampally sari inspires Hyderabad Metro Rail
Sixmetro stations have been handed over to architects for designing
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metro Rail has designed a sidewalk at the Uppal Station based on Pochampally sari design. At Nagole station, grey and black tiles have been finalised. Sixmetro stations have been handed over to architects for designing.
HMR managing director N.V.S. Reddy said, “At all metro stations HMR will design sidewalks with street furniture, greenery and seating. Metro has good stations but approach roads have not been taken care of. L&T is spending Rs 60 crore on each ordinary station and at some special stations like Panjagutta, the Joint station at Parade Ground, MGBS and Hitech, the outlay is almost Rs 100 crore”.
We are segregating the main carriageway wherever possible for uninterrupted trafficmovement. Each station will have a character. At Uppal station we have chosen a red, greyand black Pochampally sari design. At Nagole it is grey and black designs. Like this every station will have a separate character. Architects and artists are being given the job, Mr Reddy added.
