Farmer hurt in leopard attack in Prakasam

Farmer sustained injuries from the nails of the animal on the neck, shoulder and thighs
Kandukur (Prakasam): A farmer had shock of his life when a leopard attacked him while he was cutting grass along with his wife at Jillellamudi, 10 km away from the mandal headquarters in Kandukur of Prakasam on Friday.
According to information, the farmer identified as Boyapati Narasimha Rao, 45, went along with his wife Sulochana to collect green grass for his cattle on the outskirts of the village, located on the banks of Paleru River.
The leopard jumped on him targeting his neck when Narasimha Rao stood up to check the reason for movement in the thick grown grass. He and his wife raised an alarm and he managed to free himself from the clutches of the animal by forcibly pushing it away. The screams led the animal to retreat into the jungle.
Although he escaped narrowly, he sustained injuries from the nails of the animal on the neck, shoulder and thighs. He was treated at a private hospital and discharged by the afternoon. "I thought the animal was a wild boar but I was taken aback when it turned out to be a leopard,” Mr Narasimha Rao said.
