Bengaluru: HIV-affected woman forced into sex racket
BENGALURU: The CCB police have busted a prostitution racket in Ganapatipura in Subramanyapura police station limits and arrested eight people, including a woman. The police found that one of the accused had sold his HIV infected wife to a pimp. It is suspected that the men who had sexual contact with her might have also got affected.
The accused have been identified as Narasimha, 35, the man who sold his wife, Krishna, 32, a pimp, and customers Suresh, 40, Krishna, 24, Sunil, 23, Shivalingaiah, 23, and Lingaraju, 42.
According to the police, based on a tip off they raided a house in Ganapatipura 2nd Main Road and carried out the arrests. A woman from West Bengal, who was forced into prostitution, was also rescued.
“During the investigation, it was revealed that about a year ago Narasimha had sold his wife to Krishna for Rs 30,000. Though she was HIV positive she was made to solicit customers. We are suspecting that those who visited her might also be affected,” the police added. Subramanyapura police have registered a case.
