Kamal Haasan's 'Papanasam' to give Ajay Devgn's 'Drishyam' a run for his money
Mumbai: The battle at the box office is getting messier by the day! Kamal Haasan’s ‘Papanasam’, that is a Tamil remake of the film ‘Drishyam’ will release a good four weeks before its Bollywood remake starring Ajay Devgn hits theatres nationwide.
The makers of ‘Papanasam’ have already locked in July 3 for the release of the film, while the Ajay Devgn starrer will hit screens on July 31. As Kamal is very popular among the South audience, it was decided to release the film earlier, so that the makers could make their money at the box office.
This may affect the collection of Ajay Devgn’s film. However according to reports, ‘Drishyam’ director Nishikant Kamat doesn’t feel too threatened by a little competition.
It will be interesting to see each directors’ treatment of the story next month, when the films release.
