WhatsApp kills voice-calling feature for UAE
WhatsApp stands tall in the social messaging app world due to its user-friendly features like WhatsApp desktop and voice-calling feature. WhatsApp has made its voice-calling feature compatible with Android, iOS, BlackBerry and Windows Phones as well. However, even though this feature is assumed as free of cost, it eats up your data.
A report by Emirates 24 x 7 stated that WhatsApp has deactivated voice calls for UAE. On trying to make calls via WhatsApp, individuals in UAE received a notification stating ‘ Couldn’t Place a Call. WhatsApp calling is unavailable in your country’.
Media reports also state that even if you intend to place a call to a friend/relative in UAE from India or any other country, it won’t be transferred. The reason for banning voice calling isn’t clear yet.
Should WhatsApp deactivate voice calling for India too? Do you think the voice calling feature is beneficial to you?
