Looks like top Kollywood actors are in a mood to make a style statement by wearing a veshti, the traditional attire of south Indians, at public events. After Dhanush, Vijay was also seen in a veshti with a light blue shirt at the launch of his upcoming untitled flick, on Friday. Directed by Atlee, the movie has two heroines Samantha and Amy Jackson starring opposite Vijay.
Produced by S Thanu, the film also has ace filmmaker Mahendran donning the grease paint for a peculiar character. Yet another interesting aspect is that actress Meena’s four year old daughter Nainika will be making her foray as a child artiste. Prabhu and Raadhika will also be part of the cast. Though Vijay left in a jiffy, Atlee stuck around long enough to spill the beans about the film.
“It is not a supernatural film, neither a big action genre. This will be a complete family entertainer akin to the movies of the legendary MGR and Rajinikanth’s earlier ones. There are realistic stunts in the script. The two leading ladies have an equal bearing in the film as well.” When queried if Vijay plays a dual role, Atlee was evasive. And surprisingly, GV Prakash has completed composing all the songs for the movie before the commencement of its shoot.
“This is GV Prakash’s 50th film. I am glad that I could get all the songs needed in advance,” the director said. When queried about the buzz that AR Rahman will be crooning for his nephew in this film, Atlee reacted as if it was news to him, too. We have to conclude that it was a rumour.
