Can you tell which one is the fake Samsung Galaxy S6?
Fake smartphones are all around the internet. Some of these are sold with the exact dame design, build, software and user interface, but have an unknown company name and branding printed on it. However, there are a few too many reports that some Chinese smartphone companies are manufacturing duplicate Samsung and Apple products (and even other top brands) and selling them for real cheap prices. The duplicate product features the exact same look, right from the packaging to the product. They even sport the company branding, the user interface, and a lot more. A rookie user for the brand’s product will find it very difficult to spot and differentiate an authentic product from the fake. So it is easy for the scamster to sell you a product, and the mouth-watering price is difficult to resist. So how can you save yourself from being ripped-off? Here are a few videos that will help you distinguish the real from the fake, and save you from an expensive mistake.
A few pointers in case you feel you are being cheated:
- Check the box—there should be serial numbers, a covering cardboard, specifications marked properly and no storage capacity highlighted on the front.
- Check for surface quality—both front and rear sport Gorilla Glass 4 and not plastic.
- Check for the user interface—shouldn’t be laggy, should be Android Lollipop.
- Check for camera and display quality—camera quality should be good, display should be quad-HD, crisp, clear and bright.
- Check for fingerprint—S6 fingerprint works by touching it (like an iPhone) and the fake one will ask you to swipe your finger.
- Check for unknown apps—fake one will feature unwanted apps and games.
- Check for processor specifications and RAM—fake ones are usually MediaTek (MTK 6XXX) chipsets with 1GB or 2GB of RAM. The real one has an Exynos chipset with 3GB of RAM.
