ICC Rankings: Ravichandran Ashwin among top 10 bowlers, Team India occupy second position
Dubai: Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has jumped two places to the 10th position in the ICC bowler's rankings issued on Thursday. Ashwin, who bagged six wickets in the three ODIs against Bangladesh, was India's leading wicket-taker in the just-concluded three-match series against Bangladesh, and is also the only Indian to feature in the top-10 list.

But Ashwin stayed well behind young Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman (13 scalps in 3 matches), who got an 88th rank in the chart led by Australia's Mitchell Starc.

Bengal medium-pacer Mohammed Shami, who missed the series, which was India's first bilateral loss to Bangaldesh (1-2), due to injury is the only other Indian bowler in the top-20 list at the 12th position.

In the batting chart, Virat Kohli tops the Indian player's list at the fourth position as opener Shikhar Dhawan, who was the leading run-getter in the series with an accumulated score of 158, dropped a place to seventh.

Dhawan still stays well clear of skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who occupies the eight spot in the table led by South Africa's AB de Villiers. Suresh Raina has also improved his ranking by two places to 18th.
India dropped two points but managed to retain their second position despite losing the three-match series 1-2 to Bangladesh, who moved a place to seventh in the latest ICC ODI rankings.

With England, plus seven next highest-ranked sides as on 30 September 2015 to qualify for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, Bangladesh now look set to qualify ahead of the West Indies, who have no FTP One-Day International (ODI) series planned until the cut-off date, and eighth-ranked Pakistan, who play Sri Lanka in a five-ODI series next month.
Mashrafe Mortaza's men had entered the series in eighth position on 88 points, fraction of a point behind the West Indies.
In contrast, the defeat means India have dropped from 117 to 115 but still retained the second position on the ODI table.

However, the series result means only 28 points separate second-ranked India from ninth-ranked Pakistan. World champions Australia lead the field and are sitting pretty on 129 points.
Meanwhile, Brendon McCullum's side had entered the England series on 115 points and were eyeing second place.
However they have remained in third position, marginally ahead of the Proteas. On the other side of the coin, England, under the guidance of Eoin Morgan, have reduced fifth-placed Sri Lanka's advantage by four points to eight as they now sit on 98 points.
