NRI students donate for Mission Kakatiya
They have pooled Rs 30,000 by taking up social initiatives
Hyderabad: NRI children studying in city schools have donated their hard earned money to Mission Kakatiya, the flagship programme of the TS government for restoration of minor irrigation tanks in the state.
These children, who were born in the US and are currently studying in some international schools in the city, have pooled Rs 30,000 by taking up social initiatives like cleaning cars and gardens in their colonies during weekends and summer vacation, selling biscuits etc.
Students from Classes VII to XII set up the “Hill County Interactive Club” to take up social activities. They visited the Secretariat on Wednesday along with roads and buildings minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao and handed over the cheque to irrigation minister T. Harish Rao.
