Karnataka: B1, M1, K1, let’s have PeopleOne too Mr CM
BENGALURU: If Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had taken a look at the working condition of Bengaluru One centres during one of his famed inspections, he would have been circumspect while announcing his decision to open one such centre in every ward in the city.
Though citizens can pay their bills, obtain voter ID cards and avail of other services, Bengaluru One centres, which are plagued with administration and management problems, have failed to appeal to tech-savvy Bengalureans.
For instance, even after paying bills at B1 centres, it takes nearly 10 days to process the payments. In case of electricity bills, such a delay would mean the consumer losing his power connection for late payment of the bill.
The Siddaramaiah government’s previous initiative, MobileOne, which aimed to bring eGovernance to the fingertips of every citizen through mobile phones, too has failed to impress Bengalureans.
With the latest announcement coming ahead of the BBMP polls, people suspect that it is a move aimed at winning votes.
