Vijayawada: US-based documentary filmmaker Jamie Dobie and her team came all the way from New York to Vijayawada on Wednesday on a mission to document the life of archery prodigy Ch Dolly Shivani for the rest of the world to see.
Dolly Shivani, who garnered international fame after setting records in archery being the youngest in the world, caught the attention of Jamie Dobie who is a programe director at Peace Is Loud, founded by Abigail Disney, a member of the Disney family.
“I came across Dolly Shivani through BBC, Washington Post and other newspapers and was awestruck to learn that she is just three-year-old. I then decided to make a documentary on Dolly,” said Ms Jamie, who visited Volga Archery Academy. “We would first make a 7-minute trailer for the documentary and later film the documentary in a span of five days,” she added.
Once I get into the insights of Dolly and her background the duration and the title of the documentary would be decided, said ms Jamie. “The film is funded by Ms Abigail Disney”, she added. Cinematographers Michael and Alex and sound editor Jonathan are other team members while Bengaluru based Vijay Pamarthi would be helping the crew.
