Kangana Ranaut to share screen space with Hugh Grant?
Mumbai: The reigning queen of Bollywood has nodded to essay the role of Rani Laxmi Bai in a biopic directed by Ketan Mehta.
According to reports, the actress is very excited to be a part of the film and was heavily impressed with the script and the research gone into the film. As a student the actress has also read about the legendary warrior in school.
The project will be an Indo-British production, for which the makers are planning to approach veteran British actor Hugh Grant for the role of General Hugh Rose, who was given command of the Central Indian Field Force and secured the defeat of the Indian rebels at Jhansi in 1858, and who witnessed Lakshmi Bai’s legendary bravery during the rebellion.
Meanwhile Kangana will undergo heavy-duty training in horse riding, sword fighting and other warfare skills for almost a year, before she starts shooting.
The film will be shot in two languages and will go on floors next year.
