OH WOW! A Type-C USB port on the next OnePlus—The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has officially announced that the next handset, the OnePlus 2, will sport a USB Type-C connector. The next generation handsets are adopting the new type of USB port, which is high-speed, feature rich and yes, can be plugged in any side up.
The rookie Chinese smartphone company, that has quickly raised eyebrows in the market, is also banking on being the first smartphone to sport a Type-C connector in the industry. As for now, Apple’s Macbook and the Chromebook are the only products sporting the Type-C connector. OnePlus has slowly being spilling its next flagship smartphone’s specifications, the first being a Snapdragon 810 chipset.
OnePlus has not yet informed any dates with regards to the launch or unveiling of the OnePlus 2 handset.
