About Tavern Brawl

Blizzard has added a brand new mode to Hearthstone which will give all players new content on a weekly basis. Unlike the Arena or Adventure Mode, Tavern Brawl will be free of cost and will reward you with a classic card pack on your first win.

In Tavern Brawl, you face other humans but each competitor gets either of the two available Heroes and pre-made decks. For its first week, Ragnaros or Nefarian were a part of the mode. Ragnaros’ Hero Power would summon a Magma Rager, but once his weapon had been destroyed, the same power would hit a random enemy for eight damage. Nefarian could use his Hero Power to earn any random spell from the game and that particular spell would cost zero mana.

Tavern Brawl will be themed around going against the general pacing of Hearthstone. This includes giving players overpowered cards, special hero powers, a lot of HP and even starting with four mana crystals. It definitely seems like Blizzard wanted to make this as over-the-top as possible.

Tavern Brawl is my favorite new addition to an already addictive game. Blizzard needs to make sure that new brawls every week live up the standard set by the previous one and judging by how much fun the first week was, it is not going to be an easy task. They might eventually run out of ideas, but for the foreseeable future, Tavern Brawl will succeed in making players launch the game at least once every week.
