Law will take its course: DGP Anurag Sharma
Warangal: DGP Anurag Sharma on Monday visited Warangal for the first time after the Warangal city commissionerate was form ed. He flagged off seven Scorpio interceptor vehicles and 12 patrol Innovas provided by the government.
Earlier, the DGP was received by city commissioner D. Sudheer Babu, Warangal Range, DIG B. Malla Reddy, Rural SP Amber Kishor Jha, other DCPs and ACPs. Later, addressing the newsmen, Mr Sharma said that the commissionerate has been set up in Warangal to provide better services to the citizens and to maintain law and order.
“We are preparing strategies to develop this commissionerate on the lines of the Hyderabad commissionerate,” he said. When asked about the cash-for-vote case, he refused to make any comments on the issue and said that everything regarding the tapping issue is done in proper order but refused to say if any phones were actually tapped or not. He said the ACB is handling the case and the law will take its own course.
Additional DGPs, Sudeep Lakthakiya, Rajeev Trivedi, Telangana north zone IG Naveen Chand and battalions IG Srinivasa Rao accompanied the DGP.
